Dr. Scott was recently invited by Healio.com/Orthopedics Today to comment on a study completed by a psychologist and some colleagues, regarding the impact of total knee replacement (TKA) on patient quality of life. The study randomly assigned the 103 recipients to receive a medially stabilized TKA or a cruciate-retaining TKA.
Like many events, the annual American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) meeting was cancelled due to help prevent the spread of COVID19. Here at OSC we applaud that decision, and support all efforts at social distancing and increased handwashing.
A few months ago, we shared Dr. Scott’s research on medially stabilized total knee replacements with you. This month, we want to follow up by sharing a 2017 study from Arthroplasty Journal of 164 patients, 76 with medially stabilized implants and 88 with posterior stabilized.
We’re happy to announce that our two first-class orthopedic surgeons have proved their quality by renewing their certifications through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. David Scott and Dr. Amaryllis Scott were both originally certified in July of 2000, participating in a written and oral exam in order to earn their certification.
While gearing up for a major joint repair surgery, such as a total knee replacement, our focus understandably tends to turn toward anticipation of what will happen after surgery.
