Are you living with chronic hip pain and exploring options for hip resurfacing? Dr. Scott and the Orthopedic Specialty Clinic of Spokane are participating in the JointMedica IDE Study, a national clinical trial evaluating a new hip resurfacing implant.

This Study provides qualified patients the opportunity to participate in research assessing the function and safety of a hip implant under investigation.

What Is the IDE Study?

The IDE Study is a clinical trial evaluating the safety and performance of a hip resurfacing implant in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty. The implant has been used in the UK and other countries and is now being studied in the U.S. as part of the FDA approval process.

Who Is Eligible?

You may qualify to participate in the Polymotion® Hip Resurfacing Study if you:

  • Require primary hip resurfacing due to:
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Traumatic arthritis
    • Mild hip dysplasia
  • Have a Harris Hip Score below 70
  • Are between 21 and 64 years of age
  • Are skeletally mature
  • Are physically and mentally able to comply with study protocols, including completing forms and attending follow-up visits
