Dr Tohmeh has completed his Orthopaedic Residency and Spine Surgery Fellowship in Baltimore at the University of Maryland Medical System and the Shock Trauma Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in treating spinal disorders of the back and neck. Dr Tohmeh has been trained in the treatment of adult spinal deformity and failed back surgery.

He has special expertise in Minimally invasive Spinal Surgery. This enables the surgeon to perform surgery through very small incisions with a minimum of tissue damage allowing patients to recover quicker. These techniques can be applied to a range of surgeries from simple Disc excisions to Spinal Fusions and Instrumentations.

Dr Tohmeh has authored several articles and book chapters in nationally recognized publications. He is a faculty member for Medtronic Sofamor Danek and has traveled throughout the country to present and to teach other surgeons new techniques. He is a medical advisor and consultant for Nuvasive creative Spine Technologies.
