Hand, Upper Extremity & Microvascular Surgery

Dr. Kurt Anderson has joined The Orthopaedic Specialty Clinic of Spokane after completing a year-long fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at The Indiana Hand Center, in Indianapolis, Indiana, which specializes in treating and studying upper extremity disorders. This training focused on the treatment of musculoskeletal problems in the upper extremities including arthritis and joint replacement, trauma reconstruction, injuries from overuse and abnormalities that are present from birth. Dr Anderson completed a five year orthopaedic surgery residency, including an internship in general surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Dr Anderson's area of expertise includes treating acute injuries to the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand as well as performing arthroscopy and reconstructive procedures to restore a high level of function after an injury. Additionally, Dr Anderson's knowledge and surgical experience encompasses the treatment of disabling arthritic conditions of the upper extremity. He enjoys the challenge of elbow surgery as well as microvascular construction of the extremities.

Dr Anderson has authored several research publications, including a chapter on the arthritic treatment of the elbow. He is pleased to return to the West Coast and is looking forward to pursuing the recreational opportunities the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
