Dental Prophylaxis Summary

All total joint patients should use antibiotics before all dental and other invasive procedures for the first two years after surgery. After two years, higher risk patients should always use antibiotic prophylaxis, and low risk patients undergoing higher risk procedures should use antibiotics.
